Hong Kong Treaty Ports Canton Incoming Mail 1836 (24 Jan.) Wetmore entire written from a ship off Lintin Island, "To be forwarded by the first opportunity", otherwise without markings. The writer recounts his disastrous trip on the ´Bombay´ which ran aground and, "...last night we fell foul of a ship at anchor, carried away our jib beam & lose the main-sail all to pieces" and severe (lung) sickness of the crew, "... one poor fellow, a seaman, who was quite hearty when I left the ship, was yesterday committed to his grave" Estimate HK$ 2,000-2,500
