Hong Kong Treaty Ports Canton 1838 (14 Mar.) pair of Wetmore entire letters, original and duplicate, to London, the first sent "pr ´Orixa´", rated at "1/4" with a light strike of step-type "deal/ship letter" on face with, on the reverse, London arrival (21.7); the second sent on the "´Walmer Castle´", rated at "1/6" band bearing, on the reverse, step-type "ship letter/weymouth" partly overstruck by London arrival (10.8); both with horizontal fold. The contents refer to a shipment of 800 bales of cotton from Calcutta and the problem encountered without the original bills of lading.
