Japan French Post Office 1868 (11 June) entire letter to Lyon "p ´Phase´" bearing pair of perforated Napoleon Head 80c. cancelled by a good strike of large figures "5118" lozenge with "yokohama/bau francais" despatch c.d.s., boxed "pd" alongside; the reverse with Marseilles and Lyon (6.8) c.d.s.; the lower corner with a neat strike of the rare James C Fraser forwarding agents cachet; light horizontal filing crease and two internal horizontal cut marks, one through the adhesives; very fresh. Photo Estimate HK$ 5,000-10,000 This letter was carried from Yokohama to Shanghai on the ´Phase´ which was the Ligne S packet service, and from Shanghai to Hong Kong on the ´Dupleix´ which was on the Ligne R packet service. Only a handful of covers are recorded being carried on both services
