China 1894 Dowager Empress Covers 1895 (30 Aug.) envelope registered from Chefoo to Switzerland bearing, on the reverse, 1ca. reddish orange in a horizontal strip of three and 4ca. light carmine vertical strip of three cancelled by Chefoo seal in black and showing the large "customs/chefoo" type III datestamp, with the date in one line, struck in dark blue, Customs Shanghai c.d.s. (1.9) and Bern arrival c.d.s. (14.10). The address side with French "Chine" 50c. tied by "shang-hai/chine" c.d.s., the Chefoo large red oval registered handstamp, the small French boxed "R" handstamp and Paris transit c.d.s. in red.
