x Newfoundland 1857-64 Thick Machine-made Paper, Imperforate 8d. scarlet-vermilion vertical pair, the lower stamp bisected diagonally, small to large margins, neatly tied by oval of bars on small piece, small fault to tip of bisect, nevertheless still very fine. Unique in this format. B.P.A. Certificate (1971) states "genuine so far as the Committee can tell", therefore this lot is sold only with this opinion. Photo Estimate £ 800-1,000 provenance: A.
