1861-O 50 Cents. Near-Gem Uncirculated. A immensely attractive and popular (due to its placement before the Civil War) O-Mint Seated Liberty example with fully prooflike fields that are draped with faint gray patina. The design is intricately impressed in the centers with the only area of slight weakness being Liberty´s head and the stars that surround it. While not particularly bothersome, several light wispy marks in the fields preclude the Gem designation.
