1803 10 Cents. XF. JR-3, R.4. Dark toning attests to the originality of this Flowing Hair dime. The current representative is the most common of the 1803 die marriages, but to use the word common in the first place is a misnomer. Whenever dimes of this are seen at auction, a bidding frenzy is likely to take place. The surfaces are darkly toned in an earthy brown shade as a testament to the originality and sharp detail remains. As is typically seen on this type, the dentilation is not present on the upper portion of the obverse flan. No post-strike flaws are readily evident.
