Egypt Italian Post Offices 1869 (5 Feb.) envelope bearing Egypt 1867-71 20pa. green (pair) tied by "poste vice reali egiziane suez 5/feb/69" c.d.s., carried to Alexandria and there 1863-65 40c. rose (few toned perfs) affixed and tied by light "234" in dots, "alessandria d´egitto/poste italiane 6/feb/69" c.d.s. and black boxed piroscafi/postali/italiani alongside, addressed to Florence and redirected to Milan with arrival mark on reverse, cleaned and repaired at border, toned and flaw on reverse, some creases. An unusual departure from Suez and very rare 20pa. usage, the earliest known use of the 40c. on a combination cover. Photo Estimate € 1,000-1,500
