Egypt Italian Post Offices 1863 (12 May) entire letter to Lombardy franked Sardinia 1855-63 10c. bistre-yellow, 10c. bistre-brown and 40c. rose-carmine with blue alessandria d´egitto/post italiane" with hour, year inverted (Sassone 1) cancellation and with framed "piroscafi/postali/inglesi" alongside, transit and arrival markings on reverse, small stains and a tiny portion of the front replaced but fine and a great rarity. The Alessandria datestamp was only in use between March and June 1863. The contents of the entire letter relate to Saint Sepulcre´s cult and his religious life in Jerusalem, from where this letter originated. Sorani (1985) and E. Diena (1898) Certificates.
