Hitchin & Hertfordshire Bank, 16 May 1844, a document entitled ´Joint Creditors of Pierson & Son to Mr. J.M.Pierson the younger: Release of Partnership Debts.´ Hitchen and Hertfordhire Bank was founded in 1793 by Joseph Margetts Pierson and three associates. Upon his death in 1842, his family no longer wished to carry on running the bank. This document, signed by creditors of the bank, releases the remaining family members from further debts, despite only 68.5% of the money being paid back in dividends. 8 large format vellum sheets, sewn together and including wax seals for each signature. in an excellent state of preservation, highly unusual and most interesting, rare (8) Estimate £ 150-200
