Six Pence Issued Stamps 1911 (31 Oct.) chalk-surfaced paper, bright magenta lower right corner block of four with co-extensive rules and date cuts under "ce", fresh mint. marked "S.G. 296 Harry Nissen" on reverse of right margin. A fine and exceptionally rare positional multiple. R.P.S. Certificate (1977). S.G. Spec. M35, £48,000+ Estimate £ 25,000-30,000 Note: The ink used for this printing reacted with the chalky surface of the paper and caused a variation in the colour, and the paper itself fluoresces bright lemon under ultra violet light. It was withdrawn on the day after issue. From then 6d. stamps were issued on ordinary paper until the "Dickinson" coated paper was introduced in March 1913
