x Great Britain Line Engraved Proofs and Essays 1841 Trial on Dickinson Silk Thread 1d. full deep red, plate 11 IK-JL right margin block of four with the margin inscription, other margins good to very large and showing the distinctive blueing associated with this trial; horizontal crease through the top of the J row (typical on these sheets). A rare and desirable block. S.G. Spec. DP22, £26,000 as singles. Photo Estimate £ 14,000-16,000 The first and last vertical columns do not have the silk threads. Eight sheets were printed, six of these on gummed paper; however, only examples from the two ungummed sheets have been seen.
