                        Victoria  Covers and Cancellations  1844-84 selection of covers (52)  including 1844 printed entire from Geelong to Scotland showing framed "paid at/geelong" and oval d.s., 1855 entire from Geelong to Melbourne with Paid oval d.s. and large h.s. "2", both in red, 1851 (Jan.) entire from Geelong to Melbourne bearing Half-Length 2d., two with Queen on Throne 2d., two with Octagonal 1/-, three with Woodblock 6d. (one cancelled by Barred Oval "69" of Warringal), 1860 envelope from Brown´s bearing Emblem 1d. pair and 4d. each cancelled "225", 1862 envelope bearing Beaded Oval 6d. and 6d. black, fourteen bearing Emblems, 1876 envelope to New Zealand franked at 4d. cancelled with Ship Mail Room duplex and later items mostly bearing Laureated 6d.; also 1855 (10 July) letter from Sir Charles Hotham (Governor of Victoria) with mention of gold being discovered in Victoria.
