St. Helena The Boer War Censor Cachets Type 3, Triangular "passed by/censor/deadwood" 1902 (21 Jan.) envelope registered "via London" to Monaco, bearing 1884-94 1/2d., 2 1/2d. and 4d. each cancelled with Maltese Cross (CNC.9) with the 2 1/2d. additionally cancelled with Oblong of broken bars (CNC.1a), oval-framed "registered/st helena" h.s. alongside the adhesives and showing circular-framed "R", c.d.s and a fine strike of the cachet initialled "EW", the reverse with a curious message to the censor? "If you please: shut the letter", London Registered d.s and arrival c.d.s. (17.2); the envelope somewhat battered at edges though an unusual rating and destination. Photo Estimate £ 150-200
