St. Helena The Boer War Censor Cachets Type 1, Circular "censor/prisoners of war" 1901 (8 Nov.) envelope, complete with letter (transcription included) dated 26 October from a P.O.W. at Deadwood Camp, to Aberdeen, Cape, bearing 1890-97 1/2d. (2) with c.d.s. and showing light cachet initialled "FWA", arrival c.d.s. (15.12), "returned/letter" h.s. together with manuscript "Joined Rebels" and "Joined Boers" over indistinct oval h.s. in violet. Also 1901 (30 Aug.) mourning envelope front to Johannesburg, bearing 1d. and showing cachet in violet initialled "PR", "returned/letter" h.s., oval-framed "post office/Crown/st helena" cachet, bi-lingual "unclaimed" and Johannesburg censor mark, full of character Estimate £ 150-200
