V. de Witt Hamer 1900 cards from Constantinople and Zell, Austria with the first showing uninitialled Type 1 cachet in violet and 1902 envelope from England to him at Walbro Cottage showing fine "passed by censor./st. helena./head office." Type 6 cachet Estimate £ 150-200 Note: Capt. de Witt Hamer of the Holland Vryillige Corps was the war correspondent for "De Volkstem". He was taken prisoner at Elandslaagte in October 1899. He frequently wrote to Dutch Officials to report on the conditions and treatment of the Boer prisoners
