x Orange Free State Boer War 1900 (29 July) series of five Military Telegraph forms between General Hunter and Lord Roberts regarding the surrender of General Marthinus Prinsloo who was holed up with 5,000 Free Staters, between Slaap Kranz and the Golden Gate; the General had indicated his willingness to surrender on condition that all except the leaders be allowed to return home, the contents of the telegraphs tell of this dramatic surrender, Hunter´s willingness to make concessions and Roberts´ insistence on an unconditional surrender.
