x New Brunswick Early Letters and Handstamps 1795 (7 July) large part entire (toned through immersion in water) to London, rated "1/-" with "paid" h.s. in red on face, the reverse with superb "St. John, N.B./July 7 . ´95" datestamp alongside faint "halifax/n. scotia" split-circle datestamp overstruck on arrival (11.8); believed to be one of the earliest strikes of this handstamp recorded.
