Jamaica Early Letters and Handstamps 1782 (7 Mar.) entire letter from Kingston "by His Majesty´s Ship Prosperine" to Edinburgh, indistinctly rated though believed to be charged as an unpaid ship letter rather than a packet letter, showing fine "portsmouth/ship lre" h.s. (S2, a very late date of use) and with Bishopmark on reverse; the contents referring to the expected invasion of Jamaica by French and Spanish forces "however this uneasiness has been removed by the arrival of the Grantham Packet who brings us the agreeable accounts of Admiral Rodney´s being off Antigua with 12 Ship of the Line".
