1883-84 "Lilac and Green" Issue 1 1/2d. purple on orange, 1 1/2d. purple on grey, 2d. purple on yellow, 2d. purple on pink, 2 1/2d. purple on pink, 2 1/2d. green on buff, 3d. purple on pale blue, 3d. purple on deep blue, all perforated colour trials, together with 4d. as issued and 1881 1d. lilac, each cancelled and tied by Edinburgh 3 July 1884 "131" duplex on piece (203x171mm.); some creasing clear of the trials though a colourful and very rare set from the Scheme of 13 June 1884, sets of which were subsequently sent out to various officials from their opinion and for "experiments".
