1883-91 High Values One Pound Brown-Lilac 1888 (February) Watermark Three Orbs Specimen £1 brown-lilac, AB with full sheet margin at top showing part guide cross, overprinted "specimen" Type 11, good colour and with nearly full original gum, manuscript "Orb" in ink in top margin; some minor gum creases and diagonal crease in top margin though a most attractive example of this rare Specimen stamp. S.G. K16, £5250 Estimate £ 1,800-2,000 Note: In December 1887 a printing of 997 sheets of this stamp on Orbs paper was made in error. It was easier to let it be issued rather try to call back the paperwork and accounts. The precise date of issue is unknown
