Five Shillings 1867 (1 July) Watermark Maltese Cross Essay 5/- composite essay in a small format for a Plate 4 stamp lettered HF, the head printed in blue-green in rounded corner oblong on glazed card (22x26mm.) with the frame and lettering handpainted in yellow-green, the latter applied over original design for the lettering in ink, the corner letters and plate numbers in Chinese white, the whole with manuscript pen cross in magenta.
