Two and a Half Pence Essays 1874 composite essay with printed Queen´s head printed in reddish brown, the frame handpainted in dark red-brown with Plate number 5 and corner letters in Chinese white, on stout card (30x32mm). Cat. £6,000 Estimate £ 2,000-3,000 The Inland Revenue requested a new 2 1/2d. stamp to meet the new postal rate for letters to the Continent.
