LABUAN 1834 (13 July) envelope to Singapore, carried privately, showing two impressions, one fine, of "labuan" double-ring d.s. (Proud Type D1, earliest recorded date) and boxed "singapore/ship letter/bg" with manuscript "2as" inserted. Endorsement on inside flap comments "72 dollars being charged for bringing the store which came by the ´Rainbow´ from the beach to the store close by? - Ask Major Elphinstone to show you the Labuan agents abstract for June"; the envelope with repaired tear at upper left and some minor fox marks.
