Antarctica 1910-13 British Antarctic Expedition by Robert F. Scott 1911 (20 Oct.) envelope, complete with letter, from Admiral Egerton to Capt. Scott "Commanding British Antarctic Expedition Victoria Land", the envelope showing Admiralty cachet in blue and London Official Paid c.d.s. (20.10) in red, Lyttelton c.d.s. (23.11) on reverse, the contents refer to Egerton having seen "those very remarkable cinematograph films last night thanks to the kindness of Mrs. Scott"; accompanied by a 1913 letter, on B.A.E. crested paper, written by Francis Drake, Assistant Postmaster at Victoria Land, at McMurdoe Sound, returning Egerton´s letter to him after Scott´s death. Incoming mail to the expedition is extremely rare, particularly mail to Captain Scott. Photo Estimate £ 900-1,100
