Antarctica 1901-04 British National Antarctic Expedition 1902 (25 Mar.) envelope showing Expedition crest on reverse, complete with contents, from Captain Scott to Mrs Wilson Noble in England, bearing 1d. Universal cancelled with Lyttelton squared-circle d.s. and Expedition vignette with manuscript "Discovery" below, the reverse with Christchurch (25.3) d.s. and Guildford (4.5) c.d.s.; the letter written from Winter Headquarters with interesting contents "...the season is disappointing us, the ice refuses to break away as it did last year and I have to make preparation for another winter arrange stores with the relief ship and prepare many dispatches in order to get her away before there is any chance of her being frozen in....".
