1847-54 Embossed Issues 6d. Lilac Covers 1854 (3 June) entire to St. John, New Brunswick "per ´Arabia´"bearing, on the reverse, 6d. mauve vertical strip of five (2) single and 2d. Stars making 5/8d. rate, cancelled by "466" numerals of Liverpool and tied by St. Andrews (17.6) and St. John (18.6) c.d.s., the front bears Liverpool F.R.H despatch c.d.s. which shows the error of date "1853" for "1854" and there is an "8" rate mark in red ink. One of the strips of stamps was applied across the edge of the flap and one stamp torn through in opening; the cover has been fixed in the closed position to avoid further damage.
