1847-54 Embossed Issues Essays and Proofs 1847 proof of the head before the pendant curl was added in white on a pale green background without frame or value, embossed on previously gummed paper with blue and red horizontal lines simulating the Dickinson silk threads; small thin clear of Queen Victoria´s bust and two horizontal creases; though in no way detracting from the very fine appearance of this very rare essay, as illustrated in the Specialised Volume 1 catalogue (15th edition).
