1854-61 Perforated One Penny Red-Brown 1855 Introduction of Die II Imprimaturs Plate 1, AL in purple-brown, with corner sheet margins showing the plate number and part marginal inscription, the other margins are large; light ivory head from bluing of the paper; manuscript "1" in ink in the margin which shows some thinning at top, light diagonal crease. There is a constant large dot below the upright of L, possibly a trace of a double letter Estimate £ 1,700-2,000 21 stamps were removed from the imprimatur sheet, AA-AL, HL, IG-IL, JL and TL (Royal collection) provenance: AL; Earl of Crawford Colonel A.S.
