1841-53 One Penny Red-Brown Plate 45, AL-DL vertical strip of four in bright red-brown, from the top right corner of the sheet showing the plate number and marginal inscription, with full sheet margin, other margins large to very large, with full original gum and showing some bluing of the paper. A couple of small gum thins barely detract from this fresh and appealing plate number block. Rare Estimate £ 1,200-1,500 provenance: Bertram McGowan, November 1950
