1841-53 One Penny Red-Brown Imprimaturs Plate 123, AK-AL rejoined corner pair on very deep red-brown showing the plate number and margin inscription; AK with pencil number in margin, AL margin shaved at top and hinge remainder on front; both stamps with strong ivory head from the bluing of the paper. Fine Estimate £ 1,800-2,200 21 stamps were removed from the imprimatur sheet, AA-AL, JK-JL, KG-KL and TL (Royal collection) provenance: AL; Earl of Crawford, Colonel A.S. Bates, December 1934
