1840 Two Pence Blue Plate 1 1841 (2 Jan.) PA-PL, OA-OB strip of twelve and pair (paying the 2/4d. rate) in dull blue on large wrapper from Salisbury to Basingstoke, cancelled by red Maltese Crosses and showing a fine strike of open-top Salisbury c.d.s. in red alongside; close to very large margins all round, central folding crease and some other wrinkles and imperfections, to be expected from such large wrapper with heavy contents. A remarkable and very important cover believed to be the largest known multiple of the 2d. blue used on cover.
