1840 One Penny Black Plate VII Unused Registered 8th July Earliest known postal use 6th July Plate destroyed 9th January 1841 Shades are black and greyish black AL, good to very large margins showing a fragment of the adjoining stamp below, unused with part original gum; there are some patches where the gum has come off, particularly around an old hinge mark.
