                        1840 One Penny Black  Plate III  Unused  Registered on 9th May  Earliest known postal use 16th May  The plate was destroyed in October 1840    The shades range from intense black, through black to grey-black of the worn plate    CF, in a deep shade,  good to very large margins showing a fragment of the adjoining stamp above, unused without gum.
