New Zealand The Chalon Issues 1855-57 Printed in Auckland on Blue Paper 1/- green marginal example from the left of the sheet, bisected vertically, clearly cancelled and tied on 1859 (25 Jan.) entire letter, headed "East Waitahuna Station Molyneux" from Otago to Edinburgh, Otago and Edinburgh (11.4) c.d.s. on reverse; the entire letter with central vertical crease which barely detracts from the fine appearance of this very rare provisional franking. Probably the finest of either bisect recorded and the only one, from either this or the London print bisects, to have a sheet margin. B.P.A. Certificate (1983). S.G. 6a, £26,000. When offered by Robson Lowe on 27 October 1982 it was described as emanating from a recent original find by the "Globe International Stamp and Postal History Auctions" Company, their handstamp for which appears on the inside of the outer letter panel
