A group of medals relating to Cumbria, Maritime and Piscatorial Exhibition, Royal Aquarium, 1877, bronze prize medal by Elkington & Co., 45mm, two dolphins entwined around trident, rose twigs either side, rev. inscribed to the Barrow Shipbuilding Company for model of Steam Yacht Taurus, within wreath; Blamire Prize [1863 onwards], a pewter medal, 68mm, chained lion crest and motto faire sans dire, incuse for the promotion of agriculture in cumberland, rev. incuse the blamire prize awarded to, below which pricked sample; Royal Jubilee, Coronation and other commemorative medals, late 19th to early 20th centuries, for Carlisle (3), Kendal (3), Keswick, Ulverston and Whitehaven, in white metal and copper; School Attendance brass medals, for Cumberland (2), and Westmorland; and an impression in sealing wax of the seal of Norman Fletcher, Sheriff of Cumberland, 1929, first extremely fine, with edge knock, the others mostly good very fine or better; excepting the first two, nearly all are holed or with loop for suspension, the seal impression with a few cracks, many rare (15) Estimate £ 150-200
