Guards Boat Club Ltd., a large group of 165 debentures for £10, 1930, large format, ornate border, 4 pages, blue and black, a handful are damaged, otherwise generally very fine to extremely fine. (165) Estimate £ 300-400 The club, organised by the Brigade of Guards was established at Maidenhead in 1865. In financial difficulties following the stock market crash of 1929 and raised funds by these debentures to extend membership to ladies and to improve the facilities. The Club continued until 1965 when it was closed and the property sold to developers.
