Germany A very interesting range of mainly postal history from the Weimar and Third Reich periods including many types of field post and official mail with occupied territories including 1938 Sudentenland range of local cancels on wir sind frei overprinted issues, etc.; also commemoratives including a range of Welfare Fund se-tenant pairs from booklets with 1933 Wagner, various illustrated postcards with real photocard of the Wilhelmsplatz (c. 1938), this carries the original signature of Otto Günsche (see note below). Generally good to fine. (137 items) Estimate £ 250-300 Note: Otto Günsche was an officer of the Hitler´s personal bodyguard unit and was entrusted by Hitler to burn his body and that of his new wife Eva Braun in the garden of the Chancery on the 30th. April 1945. Günsche carried out this order under fire from Red army less than 500 yards away. He was captured by the Russians and suffered imprisonment before returning to Germany in 1956.
