Straits Settlements Singapore Bukit Timah 1941 (12 July) envelope addressed to "394 Bukit Timah Road", bearing 2c. and 6c. tied by Singapore D double-ring d.s., showing Newton transit d.s. (Type D4) where it was endorsed "no such number" and "try Bukit Timah", "bukit timah" double-ring d.s. (Type D5) where it was endorsed "no such number try Bukit Panjang", and "bukit panjang/singapore" double-ring d.s. (Type D2) where it was also unsuccessful. The envelope was struck with Types I 19 and I 23 instructional h.s. and returned through the Dead Letter Office where an "on postal service/return to sender" label was attached (now unattached). The envelope stained and with some small faults. Estimate S$ 600-800
