Sarawak Kuching G.P.O. 1865 (17 Jan.) front from the Bishop of Labuan to London, marked "Via Southampton", bearing India 4a. pair cancelled by diamond of bars (Type K1) and "B/172" in transit at Singapore, showing mainly fine "post office/sarawak" double-ring h.s. (Type PS1, latest recorded date) with manuscript date inserted and red crayon "11". Rare. Photo Estimate S$ 10,000-12,000 Note: This was carried on the P&O "S.S. Carnatic", which left Singapore on 21 January arriving at Galle on 27 January, transhipped to the "S.S. Bengal" which left on 1 February and arrived at Suez on 15 February. It the went overland to Alexandria for the "S.S. Syria" which left on 19 February and arrived at Southampton on 7 March.
