Foot), ´m´ in surname erased, suspension tightened, nearly very fine Estimate £ 80-100 2606 Private Fredrick Chapman, born Hitchin, Hertfordshire, 1853; enlisted in the Royal Fusiliers, January 1873; served with the Regiment in Afghanistan from February 1880, and ´distinguished himself [at the] Siege of Kandahar 1880´ (recipient´s service papers refer); discharged, April 1899, after 26 years and 102 days with the Colours.
