Peffers. 2-21st Foot.), very fine Estimate £ 350-400 2221 Sergeant Richard Peffers (incorrectly listed on published transcription of roll as ´Neffers´), born Wantage, Berkshire; enlisted as Drummer 15th Foot, 1867; advanced Sergeant 1875; transferred 21st Foot, 1879; served with the regiment during the 1st Boer War, 1880-81 (entitled to L.S. & G.C.); transferred Army Service Corps, 1890; discharged 1894.
