Wyon, 55mm, silver-gilt (Hallmarks for London 1982), bust of William IV on obverse; Britannia on reverse; edge engraved ´Sir Peter Scott 1983´, (BHM 1467; Eimer 1229), extremely fine, in Royal Mint, case of issue Estimate £ 400-500 Awarded annually since 1839 for the encouragement and promotion of geographical science an discovery. Since 1975 the gold medal has been struck in silver-gilt.
