Mongolia Republic Interim Period 1922 (17 Aug.) stampless envelope registered from Urga to Harbin bearing the only recorded example of the small type I Paid mark, with the registration handstamp, boxed "urga" cachet with manuscript value for 45c. and Russian c.d.s. type Vb, all struck in grey-black; Harbin (31.8) arrival backstamp. A fine and major rarity. This is the earliest known stampless forerunner of the Mongolian Republic and the most important cover from this period Estimate HK$ 100,000-150,000 provenance: E.M.
