Mongolia Chinese Post Office Urga 1909 (4 Dec.) opened-out red band cover to Kalgan bearing, on the reverse, pair of C.I.P. 2c. green tied by the type I despatch c.d.s. with arrival datestamp (22.1) alongside; a second Urga datestamp on the front of the cover. Some small cover faults. An extraordinary cover used on the first day of the Chinese postal service in Mongolia, one of only two covers carried from Urga. An historic rarity of Mongolian Philately Estimate HK$ 150,000-200,000 Prior to the inauguration of this service, most of the Chinese merchants used the Russian postal service to Kalgan with its post office at the Russian consulate.
