Hong Kong Covers and Cancellations The P & O Mails "A85": 1863 (4 Aug.) soldier´s concessionary cover to London bearing G.B. Q.V. 1d. red (Stars) cancelled by a faint strike of "shanghae" code "C" c.d.s. and by a good strike of "A85" barred oval with red London Paid c.d.s. (1.10) below; the reverse bearing Shanghae, Hong Kong and London c.d.s. Sent by a sergeant major in the Staff Corps and correctly countersigned this is the only cover recorded with a G.B. adhesive cancelled by both the Shanghai and P & O postmarks. This was thought to be the only G.B. cover so cancelled
