India 1854 Issue Four Annas First Printing, Head Die I, Frame Die I The Famous Inverted Head Variety 4a. deep blue and red, variety head inverted, Frame [3], Head [10], the head printed in a rich deep, almost indigo, shade, the frame in a dull red shade often associated with this variety, margins in places with the frame-lines touched in places and a little trimmed away at right, neatly cancelled with diamond of nine bars; tear at foot that barely affects the fine appearance of this iconic stamp.
