IL. Shawneetown. Bank of Illinois. $5-$5-$10-$20. 1830s-40s. (IL-735 Unlisted Types). Proof on India paper mounted on card. The $5 notes are both styled like the listed G160 note in Haxby. However, the top position is the branch issue. The second $5 is payable at the Bank of Pennsylvania. Each with semi-circular state arms at each end; supported Washington bust at center. The $10 note with framed Washington portrait flanked by eagles. The $20 note with Washington on the banks of the Delaware, top; Liberty and Washington, lower left and right, respectively. Spectacular presentation and a lovely DTL sheet. The reformed bank issued these proofs in its short tenure before going bust again. DTL.
