Great Britain Mulready Caricatures Spooner´s envelope number 6, addressed to London, endorsed "Paid" and with light red "carlisle/1/paid" handstamp and dated 1843 (12 Jan.), red manuscript "More to Pay" and black "2" handstamp indicating that the envelope was overweight, red London "paid" tombstone d.s. (13.1), black "More to Pay" and "2" handstamps, on reverse Carlisle double-ring (12.1.) and red London (13.1) datestamps; some light soiling and minor perimeter imperfections but exceptional and a highly appropriate use of this caricature, which includes a bonneted lady asking the Postman "An unpaid letter for me?" and a concerned gentleman declaring, "A hinfernal Lawyer´s letter".
