The Royal Niger Company´s Territories West African Frontier Force 1898 envelope from Lt. G.H.F. Abadie at Jebba to his father, Major-General H.R. Abadie, in London, bearing BG 2 1/2d. tied by fine Burutu S.G. Type 4 d.s. in violet for 15 November, showing red Paid Liverpool Br. Packet d.s. (10.12) and, on reverse, fine "waff" red wax seal and arrival c.d.s.; the envelope with part of flap missing and a little creased and foxed. Photo Estimate £ 300-400 Note: Lt. Abadie distinguished himself in the early 1900 campaigns in Northern Nigeria and rose to the rank of Brevet Major in the WAFF. He eventually became the Resident of Zaria.
